Review: NYC Smooth Skin Perfecting Primer

I'm aware this primer has been out for about a year now, but I decided to review this because I don't see a lot of reviews about this online.

This retails at $3.59 at CVS, making it the cheapest face primer at the drugstore (Rimmel London's and Hard Candy's face primer retail at $8 each.) I was intrigued by this by the price because like I said it is cheaper than most drugstore primers. What I found weird about this is that it has a "shade." You can't really see it but it has a little circle that says 'Shade 684,' which is strange for a primer.

The packaging is very user friendly, it is a squeeze tube as you can see.

What I didn't like about the primer was this:
Freshly squeezed out of the tube

Slightly blended out.

It has a TON of shimmer. When I put it on my face it made me look super shiny (and that's that I have dry skin.) Another thing that I didn't like about this primer is that it made me look (and be) super oily. I wish I had pictures of me wearing this, but I don't. :(

Overall, I didn't like this primer at all. Yes it was cheap, but i rather cough up about 5 more dollars on a primer that I like.

I hope you enjoyed this review! Have you tried this primer? If you have, let me know!

February Empties!

I haven't posted in a long time, school has gotten in the way. I will try to post more often though!

First empty.

Revlon photoready Eye Primer + Brightener. ~Around 8 dollars
-This primer is in a click pen form and it is very easy to use. The texture is not too thick and not too runny and it dries to a skin tone color. It is a great primer it makes my eye shadow last all day and it does not crease. I would definitely recommend this.

Maybeline The Colossal Volum' Express Mascara ~ Around 5-7 dollars, depends which store you buy from
-One of my all time favorite mascaras. It lenghtens, separates, and gives volume. The formula is on the wet side, but I usually add another coat of a drier mascara and it works out perfectly. I definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a mascara that makes their lashes look fabulous.

Loreal Magic Lumi Highlighting Concealer (Fair) ~10 dollars online
-This concealer is in a click pen form and it does what it says in the packaging, it highlights. I have this in fair, so its too light for me but it works fine for the undereye area if you want it to be really bright, Overall, it wasn't my favorite concealer, it doesn't provide a lot of coverage, but if you want something to brighten the undereye area or to contour, this might work for you.

ELF Eyelid Primer ~1 dollar at eyeslipsface.com or Target
-This eyelid primer works great and it has an awesome price tag! It works really well and it doesn't crease. I recommend this to anyone who needs an inexpensive eye shadow primer. :)

Jordana FabuLiner in Black ~2 dollars at Walgreens
-HOLY GRAIL eyeliner I LOVE IT. It's a true black eyeliner, crazy pigmented and SUPER EASY to work with. It's obvious I love this eyeliner so I recommend it to anyone looking for a great inexpensive liquid eyeliner. :)

Revlon Brow Fantasy in Dark Brown ~6-7 dollars depends where you buy
-I haven't finished the gel side yet, but a mini review on that is that it works great to set your brows, but don't use too much as it can look overdone. The pencil is something I really like, it is a true cool toned brown and it matches my brows perfectly. It has no red undertones like a lot of brown brow pencils have so I really like that. This is really easy to work with and I recommend it to anyone who wants a brown brow pencil that does not have any red undertones.

Mary Kay Mineral Powder Foundation in Beige 1 ~ 18.00 at marykay.com
-I've had this forever and I've barely finished it up. I really like the coverage of this foundation. It is a mineral foundation but it is not sheer by any means. It provides light to medium coverage just depends on what you prefer. It is really light weight, it doesn't feel like you have put anything on your face. I recommend this to anyone who prefers mineral foundations.

Equate Eye Makeup Remover ~ Around 4 dollars at walmart
- I LOVE THIS STUFF. It removes my makeup so easily and it is not oily. What I love the most about this is that when you put it on your face it has a cooling effect. It makes you feel very fresh after you have removed your makeup. This is a definite repurchase for me (this was my second bottle) and I HIGHLY recommend this for anyone looking for a make up remover.

Clean and Clear Hello Kitty Oil Absorbing Sheets ~ 6-7 dollars at drugstores
-I have to admit, I bought this just because it was Hello Kitty limited edition packaging, nonetheless these are the best oil absorbing sheets I have tried. They are very strong and flexible. I highly recommend these.

Garnier Fructis Style Full Control Anti Humidity Hairspray ~ 4-5 dollars at drugstores
-I've had this bottle FOREVER mainly because I'm not a fan of putting product in my hair. This hairspray is really lightweight and it doesn't make your hair crunchy. I love putting this hairspray on those days it is humid because it does keep my hair tame as the hairspray claims (hey I rhymed...). Overall, it is a nice low cost hairspray but I'm unsure if I would repurchase again.

Better Homes Chocolate Peppermint Truffle Candle (Not Pictured) ~ 5 dollars at walmart. (Disclaimer: This was a limited edition product and it is not available anymore)
- I love the smell of this candle, it smells like a peppermint mocha frappe from Starbucks. :D I recommend the  Better Homes line in general because they have some awesome candles at a great price.

So that is it for my February Empties! What were yours? I will try to keep updating as much as I can, school just tends to get in the way sometimes

With much love,
