Best Products of 2012

This post might be a little over due since most bloggers and youtube gurus have posted their favorite/best products of 2012 but nonetheless here are my favorite products of 2012.

Face Primer: Hard Candy Sheer Envy Primer

Amazing primer. Leaves my face silky smooth and helps my makeup last. This is comparable to Smashbox Photo finish primer for way cheaper.

Eye Primer: Revlon PhotoReady Eye Primer + Brightener

I love this stuff, hands down my favorite eye primer. It dries to a skin tone color. It truly does make your eye shadow more vibrant, makes it last all day and no creasing.

Foundation: None!

I don't have a favorite foundation as it's something I'm not to fond of wearing, only when I break out and need extra coverage.

Tinted Moisturizer: Elf Tinted Moisturizer

My holy grail item when I need just a little bit of coverage to even out my skin tone. It blends in perfectly into my skin and does not feel heavy at all. I wear the color nude and its a perfect match.

Concealer: None!

I haven't had any luck finding a great concealer, maybe 2013 will be a better year!

Face Powder: L'Oreal True Match Super Blendable Powder

Amazing powder when you don't want to (or have the time) to put on foundation. This has pretty decent coverage and is light weight. Also great for setting all your makeup.

Blush: Elf Studio Blushes

Amazing quality blushes with amazing pigmentation. My favorite is mellow mauve, just a great everyday blush.

Bronzer: Rimmel London Natural Bronzer in 021 Sun Light

My favorite bronzer! This is a matte bronzer that gives such a nice sun kissed glow and can also be used to contour. I've hit major pan on this and definitely need to repurchase!

Cream Eyeshadow: Maybelline 24 hr Color Tattoos

I have 5 or 6 of these babies and they work so well! They can be used as bases, or actual eye shadow. When used as bases its best to not any eye primer before it since it tends to crease. The best part is that if you use it as an eye shadow there is no need to set this with powder shadow, the color will last all day!

Eyeshadow: Naked Palette by Urban Decay, Wet N Wild Eyeshadows

For an every day, quick eye look I usually grab my Naked palette and use 'Naked' all over the lid and 'Buck' on the crease. Super easy and gives the eyes a little more dimension. I also love the Wet N Wild shadows. They are crazy pigmented and super affordable. I love the singles, trios, 6 pan palettes, and 8 pan paletttes.

Pencil Eyeliner: NYC Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil

My holy grail pencil eyeliner. They are so creamy and soft to work with, they don't pull and tug they are amazing and they are $4 each!

Cream/ Gel Eyeliner: Essence Gel Eyeliner

Again, another holy grail item. So smooth, easy to work with and the pigmentation is AMAZING. It's only $4 and it works so well!

Liquid Eyeliner: Jordana FabuLiner Liquid Eyeliner

HOLY GRAIL liquid liner. I've tried so many and this is the only that has worked. It doesn't smudge, lasts all day, and it is NOT watery. I've had this for 2 months and it has not dried out like some other liquid liners I have tried!

Mascara: Maybelline the Colossal Volum' Express, Covergirl LashBlast Volume

I love the Colossal for volume, length, and separation! It does it all! My only complaint is that its a little on the wet side, but that's a minor thing compared to the end results. Lash blast is amazing when I want full on voluminous lashes, it provides such great volume and the formula is great!

Lip Balm: Nivea A Kiss of Smoothness ( in the light blue tube)

HOLY GRAIL. I LOVE IT. I have two back ups of this I love it. It leaves my lips so moisturized and it has helped me tons right now in this freezing Texas weather.

Brushes: Coastal Scents and Elf

I love the Bionic Flat Top Buffer from Coastal Scents to blend out my tinted moisturizer or foundation and I love several of their eye brushes as well. As for Elf I've always been a fan of their brushes, if you haven't already checked them out I suggest you do! They are very affordable.

Face Wash & Face Scrub: St. Ive's Fresh Skin Make Up remover and Cleanser/ St Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub

I love these two products. They always leave my face clean and smooth. Very affordable too!

Heat Protectant Spray: Got 2b Guardian Angel

Smells great, leaves my hair shiny and protects my hair!

I hope you guys enjoyed reading my favorites and thank you for stopping by!

How Jo almost lost the lashes of her left eye.

So it's 2 AM in the morning, and as any normal night I can't sleep I start playing with my makeup. Nothing unusual so far. Well once I finished the look on my left eye, I thought why not use of the many mascaras I have open. I reached for the purple tube of Maybelline's the Falsies Volum' Express Waterproof in Black Drama. Now, I've had this tube for quite a while and never really liked it, so when I opened it, it was dry (not dried out) something that usually happens when you have a mascara for a while. Well, I applied the mascara to my lashes and so far so good, when I got to the second coat it started flaking, and all I thought is crap how am I going to take this off?!? I quickly proceeded to the bathroom and washed my face. I looked up and see that my lashes are clumped together it looked like I had two very thick eyelashes. I FREAKED OUT. I kept trying to wash it off and had no luck. I ran to my room and got some eye make up remover and spent the next five minutes carefully taking off the mascara. Thankfully no lashes were lost. So moral of the story here boys and girls, if your mascara has seen better days, ESPECIALLY if it's waterproof, just go ahead and buy yourself another tube. Its not worth almost losing all your lashes.
